Addy was one of the Women’s Day Giveaway winners this year! I was so excited to have her in the studio. I photographed her sister’s maternity portraits a few months ago and it was beautiful having Addy come in for images of herself. From the nominations for her – it’s clear she’s a person who puts everyone else before herself. It was fantastic giving her a day that was all about her.
You can read her nomination at the end of this post!
And now a few words from Addy on her experience:
“I’m 30 years old and work full time at a mental health agency. I also am currently in school full time for my masters in social work. I’m either working or doing something school related about 90% of the time. I rarely do anything for myself these days due to lack of time and energy.
I wanted to be photographed because I wanted a portrait that was uniquely me. Something other than a selfie or a random shot. I wanted to experience the process and be able to look back and remember how amazing it was and how I felt while being photographed. I really wanted to spend some time doing something 100% for me.Jennifer was absolutely amazing to work with. From beginning to end she made me feel so comfortable, relaxed and empowered as a woman. She was so kind and paid close attention to each and every detail regarding the shoot and the things I wanted to capture with the portraits. I felt extremely spoiled and wondered why I hadn’t done it sooner.I anxiously anticipated the reveal because I knew I would want all the portraits-and I wasn’t wrong! She captured my very essence, which isn’t easy to do. I was left speechless by the beauty of the portraits. The makeup artist was equally amazing and was able to enhance my natural beauty without over doing it. It was an absolute pleasure working with both Theresa and Jennifer, and I’ll definitely be going back for more portraits in the future.” -Addy
