Alaina and Ben are a very special couple to me. I was honored to photograph their wedding several years ago and I’m so thrilled they came to me for maternity portraits now that they are starting to grow their family. They brought their sweet little dog Penelope for some dog / pet maternity photos in the studio as well. I’m a huge fan of including pets in the maternity session – dogs are a huge part of the family. We had so much fun making their portraits and I am so happy they’ll have these images to look back on. And now a bit from Alaina on their experience:
“I first met Jennifer at my sisters wedding. Jennifer has photographed her multiple times, as well as my wedding, so I’m very familiar with the work she has done. I knew Jennifer would photograph my maternity shoot as well as she photographed my wedding almost 3 years ago to the date, so it’s kind of special to be in such a different place during this shoot.
I’m more of a low-maintenance girl who doesn’t get glammed up too often, so this was kind of stressful for me at first. I was really happy my hair and makeup were done professionally so I could really feel pampered and almost like a different me. It’s always fun to have Jennifer get so excited seeing the images she captures and having her tell you how great you look and boost your confidence. As always, all the images were amazing and it was hard to pick when each one is so special and memorable.
I definitely wanted to include our first baby, our dog Penelope, in this experience. Penelope has been our only baby until now and I want her to always feel loved. These pictures gave us a chance to have one last collection of photos as a little family of 3, though Penelope’s remaining my baby girl as she’s gaining a little brother.” ~Alaina
