Behind the scenes from a real Model Test Day working set
Model Test Day is a one-day, professional testing experience designed to simulate how models are evaluated, cast, and photographed in real commercial and editorial environments.
This experience is intentionally structured to mirror how the industry works:
You are evaluated based on simple submission images.
Your strengths are identified.
You are photographed accordingly.
There is no session fee.
The value is significant.
The expectations are real.
HOW THIS TEST DAY WORKS
Each selected model will be photographed in two distinct phases, exactly as they would be for agency testing or commercial casting.
PHASE ONE: AGENCY-STANDARD DIGITALS
Every Model Test Day begins with a set of clean, industry-standard digitals, photographed in a neutral, agency-approved outfit.
These images are designed to meet real agency and casting expectations and focus on:
-natural presentation
-minimal, clean styling
-an accurate representation of your face, proportions, and overall look
Four agency-standard digitals are included and delivered in a clean, comp-card-ready format.
Digitals are photographed with intention. We begin with the core images agencies expect to see, and when appropriate, we may also capture a small number of additional reference images, such as alternate angles or tattoo visibility. These images support transparency in casting and may be selected separately if helpful for your submissions or comp card.
This phase establishes your professional baseline, just as digitals do in real-world agency and casting settings.
PHASE TWO: FOCUSED SECONDARY SET
(Photographer’s Choice)
After digitals, you will return to hair and makeup for one additional test look.
This may be:
Beauty
Commercial / lifestyle
Editorial
Your second look is selected based on your submission images and digitals, reflecting what we believe your strongest marketable direction is.
This simulates how models are cast in the real world:
“This is what your look communicates.”
“This is where your strength shows up.”
“This is how we’d position you.”
This experience is included at no cost.

This test day is designed to:
-Give new models real-world exposure to industry expectations
-Help emerging models understand how their look is read and positioned
-Provide experienced models with updated, agency-appropriate materials
-Offer a professional test environment with zero financial barrier
Because of this, creative control, personalization, and accommodations are not part of this experience.
You are stepping into a working set, not commissioning a shoot.

INDUSTRY STANDARDS & MODEL READINESS
By applying, you confirm that you can meet standard on-set requirements, including:
-Professional makeup application without skin sensitivity limitations
-Clean, makeup-free skin upon arrival
-Short, natural, unpolished nails
(No gel, acrylic, dip, builder gel, extensions, or overlays)
-Natural lashes
-Neutral grooming appropriate for commercial work
-Ability to work independently on set
-No guests permitted
These are baseline expectations in the modeling industry.
Individual accommodations cannot be made.
APPLICATION PHOTO REQUIREMENTS
READ CAREFULLY
To be considered, applicants must submit new photos taken the same day the application is submitted.
Older images or portfolio work will not be accepted.
Required photos:
1. Full-body standing photo
Simple fitted top and jeans or leggings, barefoot or socks
Neutral expression
2 + 3. Head-and-shoulders photos x2
Natural light, hair worn naturally
ONE neutral expression
ONE smile
4. Close-up of hands
Nails clearly visible
These images are used to assess readiness, presentation, and casting potential.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
This test day is for models (18+, all genders, all bodies, all humans) who:
-Want agency-standard digitals
-Are serious about understanding industry expectations
-Want real experience in a professional test environment
-Are open to being directed and positioned based on their look
If you are visually distinct, unconventional, unique, or have a standout presence, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

Only 4 models will be selected
Not all applicants will be chosen
Submission does not guarantee selection
Models must not have photographed with Jennifer Brindley within the past 5 years
If you have applied previously and were not selected, you are strongly encouraged to apply again.
